Match officials announced for Test series against England

Lahore: Sir Richie Richardson from the West Indies, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the officiating teams for the three ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 matches between England and host Pakistan.

The two teams are set to compete in a three-match Test series in Multan and Rawalpindi from 7 to 28 October. The first Test will be held at the Multan Cricket Stadium from 7 to 11 October, followed by the second Test at the same venue from 15 to 19 October. For the first Test, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Dharmasena and Bangladesh’s Sharfuddoula Saikat—both members of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires—will serve as on-field umpires. New Zealand’s Christopher Gaffaney, also part of the ICC Elite Panel, will take on the role of third umpire, while Pakistan’s Asif Yaqoob (from the ICC International Panel of Umpires) will be the fourth umpire.

In the second Test, Kumar Dharmasena will again be joined by Christopher Gaffaney as on-field umpires, with Sharfuddoula Saikat acting as the third umpire. Pakistan’s Rashid Riaz, also from the ICC International Panel, will serve as the fourth umpire.

For the third Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Christopher Gaffaney and Sharfuddoula Saikat will be the on-field umpires, while Kumar Dharmasena will take on the role of third umpire. Pakistan’s Faisal Aafreedi, part of the ICC International Panel, will be the fourth umpire.
