Marathon Legend Fauja Singh Dies in Hit and Run
Beas Pind, Punjab – 115-Year-Old Marathon Legend Fauja Singh tragically passed away at the age of 114 after being struck by a vehicle in his native village of Beas Pind. Police confirmed that an NRI driver has been arrested in connection with this hit and run incident.

The suspect, identified as Amritpal Singh Dhillon—a Canada-based non-resident Indian—was arrested after CCTV footage and vehicle debris identified a Toyota Fortuner involved in the collision, according to The Times of India.
Dhillon reportedly fled the scene but later admitted he didn’t realize Singh’s identity until after seeing the news, as confirmed by Hindustan Times, NDTV.
Life & Legacy
Singh, born April 1, 1911 (claimed), was affectionately known as the “Turbaned Tornado” and “Sikh Superman.” He gained global fame after completing his first marathon at age 89 and famously became the first 100-year-old to finish a full marathon during the 2011 Toronto Waterfront Marathon, as reported by the New York Post.
