ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, conducted a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s residence.
The two leaders engaged in significant and results-oriented discussions in a friendly and welcoming environment. Their talks addressed a broad array of bilateral, regional, and international topics of shared interest, including challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah. They also explored ways to strengthen bilateral collaboration to achieve tangible outcomes in these areas.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to Malaysian Prime Minister on Malaysia’s upcoming Chairmanship of ASEAN in 2025.
Prime Minister Ibrahim expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing participation in ASEAN as a Sectoral Dialogue Partner and voiced support for enhanced collaboration between Pakistan and ASEAN, as well as for Pakistan’s broader role within the organization.
Recognizing the long-standing history of close ties between their nations, both Prime Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to fortifying their mutually advantageous partnership. In establishing the tone and future trajectory of bilateral relations, the leaders emphasized the significance of dialogue and exchanges at all levels, highlighting the importance of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), Bilateral Consultations, and other frameworks to boost engagement.
