RAWALPINDI: Six Khwarij were eliminated by security forces in the Spinwam region of North Waziristan.

As per ISPR, during a fierce exchange of gunfire, Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, a courageous officer leading his troops from the front, fought valiantly and attained martyrdom along with five of his men.

In the meantime, law enforcement agencies executed a coordinated intelligence-based operation in the Charbagh district of Swat, resulting in the deaths of two Khwarij, including the Kharji leader Atta Ullah, also known as Mehran.

One Kharji was captured while injured.

Mehran was actively engaged in several terrorist activities in the region, including the Improvised Explosive Device explosion targeting a police vehicle escorting a convoy of foreign dignitaries in Swat last month.

Efforts are ongoing to eliminate any other Khwarij in the vicinity.

In its statement, ISPR reaffirmed its commitment to eradicate the threat of terrorism from the nation.
