Pakistanis to Get Job Opportunities in Germany

ISLAMABAD: The German Embassy in Pakistan and a German company, SAP, have joined hands to launch a training program that will help Pakistanis get jobs in Germany.

Saquib Ahmad, SAP’s Country Manager for Pakistan, Iraq, Bahrain, and Afghanistan, said that Pakistan has a large population of young people, while there is a vast scope for skilled jobs in Europe.

 The idea is to initiate a training program in Pakistan that prepares young people for jobs that are in demand in Germany and other European countries.

 There is high global demand, especially in Europe and the Gulf, for professionals certified in SAP systems.

Pakistan is one of the few countries where SAP system certification is available completely free of charge.

To modernize technology education in Pakistan, SAP is working with three universities to introduce new tech-related courses.

They are also collaborating with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to shift the accounting and administrative systems of public universities onto SAP, which will help increase transparency.

 Around 40% of the young people receiving training from the government of Pakistan are being trained on the SAP system.

 These SAP-trained professionals are now getting jobs both within the country and abroad. Many young Pakistanis are now working in the Gulf countries, with some even leading companies there.

On the topic of artificial intelligence, he said that it is incorrect to assume that machine learning and AI will take away human jobs and emphasize the importance of using AI to achieve better outcomes.

Fahad Zahid, Large Enterprise Lead, said that AI is helping improve HR departments by screening job applications and conducting initial interviews, adding that the future belongs to those who know how to work with AI and analyze data.

According to Shamuel Ali, many government institutions in Pakistan are using SAP systems, which has significantly improved their performance and stopped revenue leaks.
