ISLAMABAD: Belarus has shown its willingness to invest in various agricultural projects in Pakistan. This understanding was reached during a meeting between a high-level delegation from Belarus and Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL), in Islamabad.
The Belarusian delegation included Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vadim Shagoiko and Sergei Stolyarchuk, Chairman of the Bank of Development of Belarus.Pak and Belarus discussed different joint venture options to set up tractor plant
During the meeting, President Bhatti highlighted ZTBL’s recent disbursement of thirty-three billion rupees in agricultural loans to small and subsistence farmers under the Prime Minister Kissan Package, along with over ten billion rupees allocated for farm mechanization.
The Belarusian delegation provided comprehensive insights into their agriculture sector and expressed a strong interest in investing in multiple projects in Pakistan. Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation, especially in introducing Belarusian agricultural machinery to support Pakistani farmers.
