ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, has described the recent inflammatory comments made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur as a sign of his inability to effectively manage the province.

In a statement, the Information Minister criticized the Chief Minister’s threats of an assault on Islamabad and Punjab, labeling it a proclamation to replicate the events of May 9.

He noted that the statements, actions, and demeanor of the PTI provincial government contradict democratic values and parliamentary principles.

Attaullah Tarar asserted that the government has never positioned itself to excel in key areas such as education, healthcare, employment, or economic growth.

The Information Minister pointed out that corruption and ineptitude within the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government have reached alarming levels. He urged the provincial administration to focus on transformative reforms in health, education, and public welfare sectors.

Attaullah Tarar stressed that the real competition should be in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s ability to provide relief to electricity consumers, akin to the measures taken by the Federal and Punjab governments. He stated that the provincial government should strive to improve public service through the establishment of hospitals and educational institutions.

The Minister further mentioned that those who disrupted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit with protests are now attempting to incite unrest ahead of the SCO meeting.

He indicated that PTI is anxious about Pakistan’s progress towards economic recovery, particularly the drop in inflation from 32 percent to 9 percent.

Attaullah Tarar concluded by stating that Israeli agents in Pakistan are troubled by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s steadfast support for Palestine and his challenge to Israel.
