Inflation rate drops to lowest level in 6.5 years

ISLAMABAD: The inflation rate in the country has fallen to its lowest level in six and a half years, thanks to the initiatives undertaken by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

During the first five months of the current fiscal year, average inflation dropped significantly from 28.62 percent to 7.88 percent, reaching a record low of 4.9 percent last month.

On a yearly basis, inflation in urban areas has decreased to 5.2 percent.SIFC supporting private companies for development of energy sector

This consistent decline in inflation is expected to provide relief to consumers by reducing the costs of essential goods such as food and transportation.
