India continues to violate minority rights: FO
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Accuses India of Severe Minority Rights Violations. Responding to media inquiries regarding remarks by the Indian External Affairs Minister in Lok Sabha and the related discussion on minority rights in Pakistan, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that India’s systematic promotion of hatred, discrimination, and violence against minorities is well-documented, making it unfit to advocate for minority rights.
Highlighting multiple incidents, Shafqat Ali Khan emphasized that India has a long record of grave and systemic violations of minority rights, particularly targeting Muslims.Saudia Strengthens Connections for Pakistani Travelers
The spokesperson asserted that instead of pretending to be concerned about minorities in other countries, the Indian government should focus on addressing its own shortcomings.
He urged India to take concrete measures to ensure the security, protection, and well-being of its minorities, including Muslims, while safeguarding their places of worship, cultural heritage, and fundamental rights.
He further stated that in Pakistan, state institutions actively work to protect minority rights as a core policy. In stark contrast, minorities in India frequently face persecution, often with the tacit approval or even involvement of elements within the ruling establishment.
