Increasing exports Govt’s top priority: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the relevant authorities to ensure a fair environment for local industries to boost industrial growth and enhance exports.
He chaired a review meeting in Islamabad on Thursday regarding the Export Facilitation Scheme.
During the meeting, proposals were presented to improve the Scheme’s effectiveness and ensure that the export sector reaps its benefits.
It was explained that the Scheme was introduced to lower production costs and help the country’s products remain competitive in international markets.Textile Exports Remain Flattish
The Prime Minister emphasized that boosting the nation’s exports is a top priority for the government.
He directed the concerned authorities to engage further with experts to refine the Export Facilitation Scheme, particularly in facilitating the import of raw materials and machinery for export industries.
He also suggested consulting with industries and business organizations to incorporate their recommendations into the upcoming budget.
