The ambassador noted that this event marked the beginning of a new phase in cultural and collaborative exchanges between the United States and Pakistan. “For over 75 years, our two nations have shared a history of partnership and cooperation. The Lincoln Corner at Quaid-e-Azam Library symbolizes our ongoing commitment to fostering understanding and mutual respect. It represents an investment in the immense potential of Pakistan’s youth,” he said.
This newly established Lincoln Corner is envisioned as a dynamic hub offering an array of programs and resources. Visitors will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including hands-on 3D technology exploration, access to over 40,000 academic journals via research databases, English language practice opportunities, and updated information on study-abroad and exchange programs in the United States.
Ambassador Blome emphasized that the space is open and inviting, designed to bring Pakistanis and Americans together to promote mutual understanding. “Lincoln Corners serve as bridges between our nations through technology, cultural events, and discussions. They champion the free exchange of ideas, debates, and volunteerism,” he said.
Programs at Lincoln Corners span various areas, such as entrepreneurship, girls’ education, and innovative uses of technology. These initiatives aim to inspire future leaders, build cultural connections, and empower individuals to actively contribute to their communities, democratic institutions, and the global stage.
Ambassador Blome acknowledged the pivotal role of the Quaid-e-Azam Library and the Punjab Public Libraries Department in turning the concept of the Lincoln Corner into a reality. “Their dedication and collaboration have been instrumental in the success of this project,” he said.
In conclusion, he expressed enthusiasm about the future of this initiative, saying, “We are excited to work with the entire team here to ensure the Lincoln Corner achieves its full potential. Thank you all once again for your support and presence today.”
