Arrest warrant issued for Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz in illegal land reference
ISLAMABAD: Accountability Court Karachi has issued bailable arrest warrants for 10 accused including Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz and Zain Malik in the illegal land reference of Bahria Town.
Accountability Court Karachi heard the reference of illegal land in Bahria Town. Bailable arrest warrants were issued for 10 accused including accused Malik Riaz, Ali Riaz and Zain Malik. The accountability court adjourned the hearing till April 15.
The investigating officer told the court that two accused have obtained an injunction from the Sindh High Court, 10 accused have not complied with the court summons. Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi said that I am the plaintiff in this case, I should be provided with copies, the accountability court ordered to provide copies to the accused, the accountability court adjourned the hearing till April 15.
According to NAB spokesperson, land in Karachi, Rawalpindi and New Murree has been seized without NOC in the name of Bahria Town and Malik Riaz has defrauded people of billions of rupees by establishing housing societies, while NAB is going to take legal action to confiscate more assets of Malik Riaz and he is currently residing in Dubai as a fugitive from justice.
NAB spokesperson said that several cases of cheating and fraud are under investigation against Malik Riaz and other people, Malik Riaz also established housing societies by occupying lands in Peshawar and Jamshoro and still huge sums are being collected from people through fraud.
The spokesman said that Malik Riaz is a fugitive from justice in the NCA case and is wanted by the court and NAB.
The spokesperson said that NAB has already seized numerous assets of Bahria Town within Pakistan and now it is going to take legal action to seize more assets of Malik Riaz.
According to NAB spokesman, Malik Riaz has recently launched a new luxury apartment project in Dubai as well and the public should stay away from investing in the said project as such an act will fall under the category of money laundering.
The spokesperson added that the investors in the project may face legal action and the government will also contact the Dubai government on this matter to decide the future course of action.
