Pakistan announces squad for ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup
LAHORE: The National Women’s Cricket Selection Committee has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup.
Wicketkeeper Komal Khan will captain the team in the 16-team tournament, scheduled to take place in Malaysia from January 18 to February 2 next year. Zoofshan Ayaz has been named the Vice-Captain.Olympian Sadaf Siddiqui Excels in IOC Coaching Course
The squad includes Aleesa Mukhtiar, Areesha Ansari, Fatima Khan, Hania Ahmer, Maaham Anees, Mahnoor Zeb, Memoona Khalid, Manahil, Qurtan un Ain, Rawail Farhan, Shehrbano, Tayyaba Imdad, and Wasifa Hussain.
The Pakistan U-19 women’s team will train for the event at the Hanif Muhammad High Performance Centre in Karachi from December 31 to January 9. They will depart for Malaysia via Dubai on January 10.
Pakistan has been placed in Group B alongside England, Ireland, and the USA. The team will play its opening match against the USA on January 18, followed by matches against England on January 20 and Ireland on January 22. The tournament’s final is set for February 2.
