HSA completes screening for over 150,000 paramedical

ISLAMABAD: The Health Services Academy (HSA) has successfully concluded its first large-scale recruitment drive for paramedical staff at Islamabad’s five major teaching hospitals, marking a significant milestone in the city’s healthcare sector.

The recruitment drive aimed to fill crucial positions at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), District Health Office (DHO) Islamabad, Federal Medical College (FMC), Federal Government Polyclinic, and the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM). The screening process began with skill tests in early November, followed by written exams, and was completed within three months, reflecting HSA’s dedication to precision and fairness.

Around 48,000 candidates underwent specialized assessments for typing and shorthand skills, while over 100,000 candidates participated in written exams, underscoring the extensive scale of the recruitment drive. This unprecedented achievement highlights HSA’s capacity to efficiently manage large-scale recruitment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and reliability.

Chief Examiner and Director of Quality Assurance at HSA, Nadeem Sajjad Kayani, praised the exceptional teamwork across various departments, including secrecy, verification, venue management, and security. He also expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of Professor Dr. Shahzad Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor of HSA, Professor Dr. Abdullah Khan, and the Ministry of National Health Services throughout the process.

HSA incorporated advanced technologies such as Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) systems for efficient and accurate result grading while ensuring adherence to quota-based categorization. Public sector organizations, including the police, Secretariat Training Institutes, National Institute of Health (NIH), and Traffic Police, played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and secure conduct of the screening tests.

This milestone achievement cements HSA’s position as a leader in healthcare recruitment, addressing the urgent need for skilled paramedics and setting a new standard for future recruitment efforts in Pakistan’s healthcare sector. It marks a transformative moment in recruitment history and further solidifies HSA’s commitment to innovation, efficiency, and transparency.
