Green Pakistan Initiative to revolutionize agriculture

LAHORE: The Green Pakistan Initiative has been launched in Cholistan with the goal of transforming agriculture and offering farmers all the necessary agricultural services in one place.
This initiative includes the opening of the Green Mall and Service Company, Smart Agri Farm, and the Agricultural Research and Facility Centre.


The inauguration ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Federal Ministers Rana Tanveer Hussain and Musadik Malik, and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.

The Green Agri Mall and Service Company will deliver quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides to farmers at discounted prices right at their doorstep. A cutting-edge agricultural farm, covering 5,000 acres, will serve as a model for innovative farming techniques, using advanced irrigation systems and promoting water-saving agricultural practices. The focus will be on reducing expenses while boosting productivity.

The Agricultural Research and Facility Centre will provide all the essential tools and resources for agricultural research, including laboratory services like soil testing. This centre will work closely with agricultural institutions nationwide to enhance the knowledge base of the sector.
In her speech, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif noted that the launch of these projects signifies the beginning of a new era in the development of Punjab’s farmers. She stressed that agricultural progress is vital to the growth of farmers and the overall prosperity of Pakistan.
She described Green Pakistan as a revolutionary initiative aimed at advancing modern agriculture.

In his address, the Army Chief mentioned that Punjab has become the agricultural powerhouse of Pakistan. He praised the leadership of Punjab and its farmers for their role in modernizing agriculture.

General Syed Asim Munir commended the efforts and achievements made under the Punjab government’s Green Corporate project in a short span of time, calling them promising and a sign of progress.

He assured that the army will continue to provide full support for the country’s economic development.
