Govt committed to mitigate negative impacts of climate change: Romina
ISLAMABAD: Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Climate Change Coordinator, has stated that the government is dedicated to addressing the adverse effects of climate change.
Speaking at the launch event for the “Recharge Pakistan Programme” in Islamabad today, she emphasized that climate change is no longer a distant problem but an immediate threat to our communities, ecosystems, and economies. She highlighted that the catastrophic floods of 2022 served as a clear reminder of our vulnerabilities.
The Prime Minister’s Coordinator mentioned that the Recharge Pakistan initiative aims to enhance the safety of vulnerable populations and will benefit more than six hundred thousand individuals.
Earlier at the event, Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik underscored the necessity for coordinated global efforts to tackle the issue of climate change.
