Fire Erupts at Islamabad Tax Office
A fire broke out in the corporate tax office located in Islamabad’s G-9 sector on Wednesday afternoon, prompting an urgent response from emergency services.
Thick smoke was seen rising from the multi-storey building as the flames spread across several floors. Firefighting teams and rescue officials rushed to the scene shortly after the alarm was raised.
According to rescue officials, three employees had become trapped on the rooftop during the incident. They were successfully evacuated by emergency teams using ladders and safety equipment.
While the building sustained damage, no casualties or injuries were reported. Officials confirmed that the situation was brought under control after several hours of firefighting operations.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Initial reports suggested that an investigation would be launched to determine whether it was triggered by an electrical fault, negligence, or any other reason.
In response to the incident, access to the surrounding area was restricted as a safety measure, and traffic was diverted to alternate routes. The fire also disrupted work inside the building, affecting several departments under the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
