Islamabad – Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with the outgoing Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Mitsuhira Wada, who paid a courtesy visit to the Minister at the Finance Division.

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, with a particular focus on the long-standing bilateral partnership, shared values, and perspectives on regional and global affairs between Pakistan and Japan.Pakistani people are very patient and resilient: Japan Ambassador

Mr. Wada, who has completed a three-year tenure in Pakistan, reflected on the consistent growth of economic and diplomatic relations since the two nations established formal diplomatic ties in 1952. He emphasized the positive trajectory of their ongoing bilateral cooperation, which includes the expansion of trade and commerce, increasing cultural, sports, youth, and educational exchanges. He also reiterated Japan’s steadfast commitment to supporting Pakistan in key priority sectors, including health, education, environment, water, and governance.

Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb expressed his appreciation for the enduring bilateral ties and acknowledged Japan’s significant contributions to Pakistan’s economic development. He underscored the crucial role of Japan’s assistance in helping Pakistan address its economic challenges and strengthen its economy. The Minister noted that both countries have substantial potential to further enhance their relationship through increased trade, cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges.

The Minister also briefed the Ambassador on the current economic situation and the notable improvements in various macroeconomic indicators. He affirmed that the government remained committed to its reform agenda, emphasizing that maintaining focus and avoiding complacency would be essential to sustaining the macroeconomic stability achieved over the past 14 months.
