PARC Chairman Arrested Over Illegal Appointments and Abuse of Power

Islamabad – July 14, 2025: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Anti-Corruption Wing has detained Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, Chairman of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), over alleged charges of illegal appointments and misuse of authority.
The FIA has also arrested another official PARC’s Director Establishment, Ikhlaq Malik over the same charges of illegal appointments and abuse of power.
The FIA alleges that PARC had only 164 approved positions, but the PARC chairman illegally appointed 332 individuals in violation of recruitment rules and regulations.
FIA has registered a formal FIR against both senior officials who are now under investigation. Additionally, FIA has nominated 17 other officers and employees in the case, and the agency was conducting raids to apprehend the remaining accused.PAC Concerned over Irregular Appointments in PARC
The FIA will present the arrested officials in court today for physical remand to initiate further inquiry.
