Federal Govt to provide subsidized loans to youth: PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the federal government, in collaboration with provincial authorities, has devised a comprehensive plan to offer subsidized loans to young people aimed at promoting small-scale industries in rural areas.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad today, marking the launch of a capacity-building program for 1,000 agricultural graduates in China, the Prime Minister expressed confidence that this initiative will contribute to increasing Pakistan’s export potential.
He underscored the importance of revitalizing agricultural research institutions to strengthen the agriculture sector. Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that the selected graduates will receive advanced agricultural training in China. The Prime Minister extended his gratitude to Chinese President Xi Jinping for supporting the training program for Pakistani agricultural graduates. He expressed hope that these bright and dedicated individuals would not only elevate Pakistan’s image in China but also on the global stage through their hard work and professionalism.
Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that China remains a steadfast and trusted friend of Pakistan, consistently supporting the country through challenging times.
He noted that the first group of 300 agricultural graduates has been selected purely on merit, representing all four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. He assured that the remaining 700 candidates will also be chosen based on merit.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized that the current government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has made agricultural development a top priority. He stated that the country is poised to witness a transformation in this vital sector.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, also addressed the gathering, reaffirming the strong partnership between Pakistan and China. He noted that China is committed to taking tangible steps toward an upgraded and more advanced phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
