Ex DG ISI Faez Hameed charge-sheeted

Rawalpindi: According to ISPR, proceedings for the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) against Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hamid were initiated under the Pakistan Army Act. Initially, Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hamid has been formally charged with involvement in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act to the detriment of state safety and interests, abusing authority and government resources, and causing unjust harm to individuals.

As per ISPR details, on August 12, 2024, the FGCM process began against Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hamid under the Pakistan Army Act, where he was formally indicted on allegations of engaging in political activities, breaching the Official Secrets Act, misuse of power and public resources, and causing wrongful damage to others.

Additionally, during the proceedings, his alleged role in inciting unrest and disorder, which contributed to several incidents, including but not limited to the events of May 9, 2023, aimed at destabilizing the country in collaboration with certain political elements, is also under separate investigation.

Lt Gen (Retd) Faiz Hamid is being granted all legal rights in accordance with the law.
