ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized that the collective efforts of the entire nation, particularly the youth, are crucial for making Pakistan self-sufficient and free of debt.

The Prime Minister noted that both the policy rate and inflation have decreased, while remittances from Pakistani expatriates and agricultural exports are increasing. He stated that these positive trends indicate that the economy is moving in the right direction.
Shehbaz Sharif also mentioned that the IMF’s board meeting is set for the 25th of this month to approve a loan program for Pakistan. He acknowledged the support of friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and China for their contributions to the IMF program for Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed his hope that the forthcoming program would be the final IMF program for Pakistan. However, he stressed that the nation, especially the youth, will need to work diligently to achieve this goal. He highlighted the necessity of expanding the tax base and putting an end to tax evasion. He underscored that self-reliance is crucial for leading a respectable and dignified life.
He pointed out that relying on loans and rolling over old debt cannot ensure a respectable life. Therefore, collective effort and hard work are essential to securing a prestigious position among the nations of the world.
