CCP approves Nishat Chunian Group’s corporate restructuring under scheme of arrangement

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, Chairman of the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP), met with former Chairman Senate and Federal Minister for Law and Justice, Mr. Farooq H. Naik, to discuss legal reforms and measures to strengthen competition in Pakistan’s markets.

Mr. Naik, an eminent jurist and seasoned politician, visited the CCP Head Office for a detailed discussion on regulatory reforms and institutional development. The meeting focused on enhancing regulatory efficiency, improving judicial coordination, and fostering a fair and transparent business environment.

Chairman CCP briefed Mr. Naik on recent enforcement actions, legal reforms, and organizational improvements aimed at strengthening market competitiveness. He noted that the Commission has significantly reduced the backlog of court cases through active follow-up, enabling the recovery of substantial penalties and strengthening deterrence against anti-competitive practices.
