In his speech, the deputy prime minister stated that the bazaar offered a valuable opportunity for the people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to visit the Foreign Office, experience the cultures of other countries through their cuisine and crafts, and contribute to the charitable causes championed by PFOWA.
“This bazaar today is an exciting fusion of various cultures and experiences, promoting unity and brotherhood among nations,” Ishaq Dar remarked. He expressed his appreciation to the diplomatic community and Islamabad residents for their “enthusiastic and vibrant participation” in the event.
“It’s wonderful to see how each country has showcased its unique culture, food, and various items, creating an exceptional experience for the visitors,” he added.
He further emphasized that one of the main goals of the event was to enhance the understanding of Pakistan’s social, cultural, and economic life. To support this objective, PFOWA regularly organizes events like exhibitions, cultural performances, and social gatherings.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also highlighted the theme of the event, “Joining Hands, Joining Hearts,” calling it particularly relevant in light of the current global challenges. “It’s a beautiful theme and very fitting for the difficult times we are all facing. Just yesterday, Malaysia experienced devastating floods affecting over 140,000 people. We spoke to the Prime Minister of Malaysia and reached out to their Foreign Minister,” he shared. “In today’s world, we must come together and create opportunities to promote friendship, brotherhood, and affection.”
