NCCIA Registers 457 FIRs, Arrests 690

Islamabad: Since its launch on April 4, 2025, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has taken decisive action against cybercriminals — registering 457 FIRs and arresting 690 individuals in just three months.
The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), launched on April 4, 2025, has made swift progress in fighting cybercrime. From April to July, the agency received 50,563 complaints.
Out of these:
NCCIA launched investigations into 7,247 cases
It registered 457 FIRs
It arrested 690 individuals
Courts issued convictions in 22 cases
Deputy Director of Operations, Usman Khan, confirmed that under Operation Grey, the agency targeted foreign networks involved in cyber scams disguised as call centers. These operations recovered millions of rupees.
PTA Conducts Raid on Ufone Frenchise
The majority of complaints involved financial fraud, blackmail, harassment, and hacking.
NCCIA’s 14 active circles are using modern technology and trained staff to fast-track investigations.
Officials urge citizens to report cybercrimes immediately via the helpline or nearest circle. The agency plans to expand awareness efforts to ensure stronger digital protection for the public.
