Cut in Electricity Bills for Three Months

Islamabad: The consumers are set to have a relief of Rs 1.50 per unit on account of the quarterly adjustment.
The power regulator also conducted a separate public hearing in this regard.
If this quarterly adjustment is implemented for 3 months, then the consumers will get relief of about Rs 1.50 per unit for the next 3 months, CPPAG said during the hearing.
The power distribution companies (Disco) had submitted a request for relief of Rs 51,493 million for consumers in the third quarter adjustment of the financial year 2024-25, NEPRA
The public hearing was chaired by the Chairman of NEPRA, NEPRA said, adding that CPPAG officials, the business community, journalists and the public again participated in the public hearing.
The authority had listened to the views of all the relevant stakeholders with satisfaction. The authority has decided to seek an explanation from the relevant discos on the non-attendance of the senior officials of HESCO, MEPCO and KESCO in the hearing.
This will apply to all discos, including K-Electric. The NEPRA authority will issue its detailed decision after further scrutiny of the data.

The request was filed by XWDISCOS and includes various charges concerning system operations. Per government guidelines, the final decision issued by the regulator and notified by the GOP will apply to all customers of distribution companies, including KE.
The amount to be charged in customer bills will be stated within the final notification, including the applicable period. NEPRA is the sole determinant of electricity costs and such charges, notified by the Government of Pakistan. Individual companies cannot influence the process or make unilateral changes.
