ISLAMABAD: In a groundbreaking move towards educational innovation and digital transformation, Eng. Mohammad S. Almadani, CEO of Classera, and Syed Imran Ali, Chief Business Solutions Officer of PTCL, have officially signed an agreement to launch the National e-Taleem Portal at the Pakistan-Saudi Business Forum 2024. The signing ceremony was attended by the Saudi Investment Minister, HE Eng. Khalid Bin Abdul Aziz Al Falih, and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, underscoring the initiative’s importance for both countries.
This collaboration is part of the Federal Government’s digitization initiative under the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (M/o FE&PT), in partnership with Classera and PTCL, aiming to modernize Pakistan’s education sector by integrating advanced technology into the learning framework. The platform will provide a comprehensive digital environment for students, teachers, and educational institutions nationwide, supported by HP Classeasy’s suite of classroom management tools developed alongside Classera.PTCL Group Reports 15% YoY revenue growth
Spanning three years, the e-Taleem platform will cater to K-12 in-school students and out-of-school children through Accelerated Learning Content, addressing the evolving educational needs of Pakistan. By utilizing cutting-edge technology, e-Taleem aims to move beyond traditional rote learning, promoting critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and digital literacy among students.
The partnership between M/o FE&PT, Classera, and PTCL began with the Tele School initiative, a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has now evolved into a mobile application delivering educational content across six Over-The-Top (OTT) channels at no cost.
The National e-Taleem Portal represents an advancement from the Tele School, offering a more holistic approach to digital education. Central to Classera’s offerings is HP Classeasy, combining HP’s technology with Classera’s e-learning platform to create an immersive and interactive learning experience that supports both students and educators. The portal includes a Virtual Teacher Training Platform for ongoing professional development, promoting blended learning that combines online and offline modules to ensure educational continuity, particularly in regions with limited internet access, such as AJK and GB. By enhancing digital literacy and teaching methods, the e-Taleem Portal aims to empower students and educators, bridging the digital divide and improving the overall quality of Pakistan’s public education system. The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is extending this initiative nationwide.
“Technology is vital for ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students, and the e-Taleem platform is a significant step toward bringing digital learning to every corner of Pakistan,” said Syed Junaid Akhlaq, Sr. Joint Secretary, M/o FE&PT.
Mohammad Almadani, CEO of Classera, which operates in over 40 countries, noted that the e-Taleem initiative aims to transform education by addressing national needs and local challenges throughout Pakistan.
Through the e-Taleem portal, in collaboration with PTCL and HP Classeasy technologies, the goal is to empower every child with the necessary tools to thrive in a digital world.
Mayank Dhingra, Senior Education Business Leader at HP, added, “Pakistan stands on the brink of significant change in the education sector, and we are excited to support the government’s digital transformation agenda alongside our partner, Classera. This aligns with our commitment to accelerate digital equity for 150 million people by 2030.”
