Chinese Parrot Xiaogui Enters Guinness World Records
A parrot in China has stunned animal lovers across the globe by earning a Guinness World Record for the fastest color recognition by a bird.
The parrot, named Xiaogui, is owned by Chen Feng, who adopted him in 2020. During the official attempt, Xiaogui identified and sorted 10 colored balls into their matching boxes in just 33.5 seconds.
The feat not only amazed spectators but also earned him a confirmed entry in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The challenge demanded sharp focus, as Xiaogui was required to match each ball with its correct color box. At one point, he mistakenly placed a dark pink ball into a light pink box but quickly corrected himself, showcasing his strong memory and awareness. Judges praised the parrot’s intelligence and adaptability.
According to Feng, Xiaogui’s training started as a game. The bird loved playing with colorful objects, which inspired Feng to gradually introduce structured tasks. What began as playtime evolved into a display of remarkable intelligence.
