Chairman APMIA Highlights Challenges and Opportunities for Pakistan’s Marble and Granite Sector
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Stone Development Company (PASDEC) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) recently organized a seminar to promote the growth of Pakistan’s marble and granite sector. The event was held at Marble City in Gadani, Balochistan, and aimed to underscore the sector’s immense potential for development.
Azhar Ali Dahr, Director General of TDAP, and Waqas Ahmad Ansari, a representative of PASDEC, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the sector both locally and internationally. Addressing the participants, Muhammad Bilal Khan, Chairman of the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA), outlined key challenges facing the industry, such as inadequate infrastructure, outdated technology, and insufficient training for the workforce. He emphasized the urgent need for government support and private sector investment to overcome these hurdles and unlock the full potential of the marble and granite sector.
