At the event, BYD’s Chairman and President, Mr. Wang Chuanfu, delivered a keynote address, reflecting on the company’s remarkable journey—from a small startup with just 20 employees to a multinational corporation employing nearly one million people worldwide. Mr. Wang emphasized BYD’s relentless focus on technological innovation and its pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility.

As part of its global expansion, BYD recently launched its two flagship vehicles, the ATTO 3 and Seal, in the Pakistani market. With an ambitious goal to electrify 50% of the local automotive market by 2030, BYD plans to not only expand charging infrastructure but also establish local manufacturing facilities, driving the shift towards sustainable energy solutions in Pakistan.

Reaching the milestone of 10 million NEVs marks an extraordinary achievement for BYD, making it the first automaker in the world to accomplish this feat. Notably, it took BYD 15 years to produce the first 5 million vehicles, while the next 5 million were delivered in just 15 months—highlighting the company’s rapid growth and technological advancements in the NEV sector.

The 10-millionth vehicle, a DENZA Z9, was presented to Mr. Feng Ji, Founder and CEO of Game Science and creator of the highly praised game Black Myth: Wukong.

In his address, Mr. Wang attributed BYD’s success to its bold vision, unyielding execution, and deep-rooted engineering culture. “The soul of BYD’s engineers is the soul of our company,” he stated, underscoring the pivotal role of the company’s technical expertise and commitment to innovation.

To offer a deeper understanding of BYD’s culture, renowned Chinese financial journalist and author Qin Shuo conducted interviews with nearly 100 mid- to senior-level executives and employees. These insights were compiled into the book The Soul of Engineers.

Looking to the future, Mr. Wang outlined BYD’s strategic roadmap and introduced the “BYD Basic Guidelines”—a comprehensive document capturing the company’s core values, historical lessons, and future strategies. This framework is designed to guide BYD’s continued growth and technological evolution.

In terms of future investment, BYD has committed to investing 100 billion yuan in the development of intelligent technologies that integrate artificial intelligence with automotive systems. This will drive comprehensive upgrades across its vehicle lineup and ensure that BYD stays at the forefront of technological innovation. The company’s focus on engineering excellence and sustainable development will enable it to maintain a competitive edge in the global market and fulfill the aspirations of consumers worldwide, positioning BYD as a world-class high-tech enterprise for the future.
