British High Commission Hosts Training for Punjab MPs on Migration Issues

ISLAMABAD: The British High Commission supported the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) for a comprehensive two-day “Capacity Building Training of Parliamentary Working Group of Punjab” to deepen participants’ understanding of migration issues, specifically Trafficking in Persons (TIP) and Smuggling of Migrants (SOM) while emphasising the crucial role that parliamentarians play in addressing these challenges.

The workshop aims to equip participants with practical tools and strategies for effective legislative action to combat TIP and SOM. The training was attended by 42  participants , including 33 members of the Provincial Assembly (PA) of Punjab, Secretary General and Director Parliamentary Development Unit, Punjab Assembly Pakistan, and representation form Home Department Punjab, Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Punjab, Higher Education Department Punjab, District Administration, and Punjab University.
