Aurangzeb invites Turkish investors to invest in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has urged Turkish investors and entrepreneurs to consider exploring investment prospects in Pakistan, especially in the dairy, cheese, and livestock industries.
He made these remarks during a meeting with Turkey’s Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek on the sidelines of the IMF-World Bank Spring Meetings held in Washington.
Aurangzeb emphasized the deep-rooted historical relationship between Pakistan and Turkey and stressed the untapped potential for expanding trade and investment cooperation between the two nations.

The minister also praised the Turkish government’s focus on promoting high-tech industries, highlighting its role in driving innovation and boosting value-added production.
In a separate meeting with Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Finance Minister Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of expanding digital access and encouraging effective data sharing to accelerate financial inclusion.
He outlined the progress Pakistan has made in promoting financial inclusion for women, particularly through the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, supported by international development partners.
Aurangzeb highlighted that women’s education, financial empowerment, entrepreneurship, and inclusion remain key priorities for the government of Pakistan.
Additionally, he held a meeting with Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining strong engagement with the Bank.
He expressed gratitude to the AIIB for its continued support toward Pakistan’s socio-economic development and discussed ongoing and future projects financed by the Bank. He also shared Pakistan’s intention to move forward with its first issuance of Panda Bonds within this calendar year.
