Armed forces, nation determined to foil designs of enemy: COAS
RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has stated that the military and the citizens of Pakistan are resolute in thwarting the malevolent schemes of the nation’s adversaries.
He was speaking at a ceremony in observance of Defence and Martyrs Day at GHQ, Rawalpindi this evening.

The Army Chief emphasized that external actors who are fueling terrorism in Pakistan will not be permitted to achieve their objectives.
Paying high tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the armed forces for their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, General Syed Asim Munir noted that this extended and unconventional struggle against extremism is ongoing and will persist until the last terrorist is eradicated from Pakistan.
He remarked that the sacrifices made by the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and the courageous people of Pakistan, particularly those in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, are a golden chapter in the nation’s history.
The Army Chief pointed out that the battle against the Fitna al-Khawarij has been ongoing for over 20 years, with the nation making unparalleled sacrifices in this struggle, which has led to Pakistan’s security and its gradual stabilization.
General Syed Asim Munir highlighted that Paigham-e-Pakistan, a collaborative strategy against the Fitna al-Khawarij, improved management of the western border, the integration of tribal areas, and development initiatives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are notable achievements.
He stressed that the armed forces and the people of Pakistan share a profound bond.
The Army Chief also noted that certain hostile forces are sowing discord regarding the security measures taken and attempting to create a rift between the military and the citizens of Pakistan. He affirmed that these elements will be overcome with national determination.
Emphasizing the importance of Azm-e-Istehkam, the Army Chief stated that it is essential for national unity and is not a new operation. Addressing the ongoing Indian repression in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he condemned the actions of New Delhi’s leaders as genocide. He assured that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri people.
Regarding the current situation in Gaza, Syed Asim Munir described Israeli aggression as a threat to global peace and reaffirmed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Muslims of Gaza.
