How to Apply for Punjab’s Apni Zameen Apna Ghar

Islamabad: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has recently launched Apni Zameen Apna Ghar to provide free residential plots to Punjab’s poorest families. This is a key step towards the goal of “Housing for All.”
1,892 Free Plots in First Phase
In the first phase, the Punjab government has decided to launch 23 housing projects in 19 districts to distribute 1,892 free 3-marla plots (approx. 675 sq. ft.).

Here is a detailed list of districts where people can apply for free residential plots.
Attock, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Gujrat, Jhang, Jhelum, Kasur, Khushab, Layyah, Lodhran, Mandi Bahauddin, Okara, Rajanpur, Sahiwal, Sargodha, and Vehari.
Punjab government also targets a broader plan for the construction of 100,000 houses in four and a half years for which would be given to low- and middle-income families.

The scheme is being implemented by the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) is going to implement this scheme under the Housing and Urban Development Department.
Who Can Apply?
To qualify, applicants must have the required documents:
- The candidate should be a permanent resident of Punjab (verified by CNIC).
- Apply only in their native district.
- Own no property (self, spouse, or dependents).
- Have a clean criminal and financial record.
- Be registered with NSER and have a PMT score of 60 or below.
- Have a monthly household income below Rs. 50,000.
- Be 18 years or older (priority for married applicants).
- Be the head of a nuclear family (verified by NADRA).
The Punjab government will give special preference to widows, orphans, disabled persons, and laborers.

- Online at: azag.punjab.gov.pk
- Documents can be submitted offline via help desks at local Deputy Commissioner offices
Required documents:
- CNIC (self and spouse)
- Domicile or utility bill
- NADRA family registration
- Proof of income or affidavit
- PMT score details from NSER
Allotment Terms
Successful applicants must be required:
- Under the terms and conditions, successful candidates would have to start construction within six months and complete it within two years.
- There will be no sale, transfer, or lease of the plot for five years.
- The plot will be only for residential purposes.
- Construction will have complied with PHATA’s building bylaws.
- The candidate will face cancellation for non-compliance or false information.
Interest-Free Loan Scheme
Beneficiaries of the Punjab housing scheme will also be eligible for the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme. The government will offer interest-free loans of up to Rs. 1.5 million for construction purposes. The repayable will be over 7 years in Rs. 14,000 monthly installments after a 3-month grace period.
