ISLAMABAD: The Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, has declared the establishment of seventeen task forces aimed at achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
While addressing an event in Islamabad, he mentioned that these task forces comprise specialists from government, political entities, and both public and private sectors, working together to advance progress toward the SDGs.

He emphasized that rather than demonstrating on the streets, it is crucial for us to convene in parliament and relevant platforms to promote national stability.
Ahsan Iqbal highlighted that human resource development is vital for any nation’s advancement, and that without addressing poverty and hunger, sustainable national development cannot be achieved.
He noted that twelve out of the seventeen SDGs are directly or indirectly linked to poverty alleviation, quality education, gender equality, access to clean water, and affordable energy.
