NEW YORK: Pakistan has urged UN member states to advocate for Palestinian self-determination and reject any alterations to the status of occupied territories.

During a statement at the 10th Resumed Emergency Special Session of the United Nations General Assembly (ESS) concerning the situation in Palestine, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Munir Akram, called for immediate and decisive measures to address the enduring injustices faced by the Palestinian people.
He emphasized the necessity of recognizing the State of Palestine as a full member of the United Nations and convening an international conference on Palestine to promote the two-state solution.
Ambassador Munir Akram reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Palestinian struggle for freedom, drawing from its own history of attaining independence through self-determination.
