Saudi Tourism Roadshow Boosts Pakistan-Saudi Travel Ties

Bukhari Travel & Tourism Services and the Saudi Tourism Authority hosted a high-profile roadshow in Karachi on August 27, 2025, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s tourism potential and strengthening bilateral ties.
KARACHI: In a landmark move to deepen tourism cooperation, Pakistan’s Bukhari Travel & Tourism Services and the Saudi Tourism Authority jointly organized a roadshow at the Marriott Hotel Karachi on August 27, 2025. The event highlighted Saudi Arabia’s growing profile as a global tourism hub and aimed to expand travel opportunities for Pakistani visitors.
The roadshow brought together leading figures from the travel and tourism industry, airlines, corporate circles, and media representatives. It served as a platform to introduce Saudi Arabia’s cultural heritage, leisure attractions, and diverse tourism offerings, including spiritual journeys, destination weddings, family holidays, corporate incentive travel, study tours, exhibitions, sports tourism, and Red Sea adventures. The program also emphasized Vision 2030, the Kingdom’s flagship initiative to diversify its economy through large-scale tourism investments.
Welcoming the participants, Muhammad Rafiq Khan, Chairman of the Bukhari Group of Companies, praised the growing partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the tourism sector. He expressed optimism that the initiative would not only open new business opportunities but also strengthen cultural and people-to-people exchanges. “This collaboration marks a new chapter in bilateral travel business and cultural exchange,” he said.
Representing the Saudi Tourism Authority, Country Manager Sofia Al-Khawar underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to creating world-class experiences for international travelers. She highlighted the significance of the Pakistani market in Saudi Arabia’s regional tourism strategy. “We are thrilled to work closely with Bukhari Travel & Tourism Services to bring more awareness and accessibility to Saudi Arabia’s diverse tourism offerings,” she remarked, stressing that Pakistan remains a key source market for inbound travel.Saudi Airline wins APEX 2025 award for best guest experience
Industry leaders attending the event echoed similar sentiments, noting that closer collaboration could enhance mutual growth in tourism, aviation, and hospitality sectors. The initiative is also expected to encourage Pakistanis to explore Saudi Arabia beyond traditional religious pilgrimages, with greater focus on leisure and adventure travel.
Saudi Arabia has rapidly expanded its tourism sector in recent years, introducing electronic visas, investing in mega-projects such as NEOM, and promoting global events including the Red Sea Film Festival and Formula 1. For Pakistan, with its large middle-class population and increasing outbound travelers, the Kingdom’s push offers new opportunities for tour operators, airlines, and hospitality companies.
The roadshow concluded with interactive sessions, presentations, and networking opportunities, leaving a strong impression on participants. Observers said the event not only promoted Saudi Arabia’s diverse tourism portfolio but also reaffirmed the growing alignment between Riyadh and Islamabad in strengthening bilateral relations through people-centric initiatives.
With Saudi Arabia seeking to attract 150 million visitors annually by 2030, Pakistan is expected to remain an important partner in achieving that target. The collaboration, officials noted, could pave the way for joint ventures, exchange programs, and expanded flight connectivity between the two countries.
The Karachi roadshow reflected a broader trend of strategic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, extending beyond traditional ties into tourism, culture, and business. Both sides expressed optimism that the partnership will create sustainable growth opportunities while bringing their people closer together.
