Metro Bus Kills Guard in Islamabad

A tragic incident unfolded in Islamabad on Monday when a security guard was fatally hit by a Metro Bus at Shaheed-e-Millat Station. The guard died on the spot after reportedly being run over by the vehicle.

His body was taken to a nearby hospital, but authorities have not released further details regarding his identity or the exact circumstances of the accident.

Meanwhile, a separate incident in Sindh has disrupted railway operations. An explosion near Sultankot railway track caused three bogies of the Jaffar Express to derail.

The train, which was en route from Peshawar to Quetta, suffered structural damage, and one passenger was reported injured.

The Divisional Transportation Officer (DTO) of Pakistan Railways confirmed the derailment and said that relief efforts are underway. Emergency responders and railway personnel have been dispatched to the site to manage the damage and assist passengers.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the blast and ordered a full-scale investigation. He was briefed on how the incident impacted railway schedules and traffic across the region. As a result, several train routes have been suspended or changed.

According to railway officials, Sukkur Express—normally travelling from Karachi to Jacobabad—will now stop at Sukkur.

Similarly, the service from Jacobabad will also start from Sukkur until repairs are made. Authorities have also decided to cancel the Jaffar Express journey from Quetta to Peshawar for now.
