Iesco Installs 884,000 Ami Meters In Rawalpindi Region

ISLAMABAD: Project Director AMI (IESCO) Syed Mohsin Raza Gilani has said that IESCO has always enabled the implementation of new and user-friendly technology in the power sector, which has directly benefited the esteemed customers of IESCO in the form of timely and quality services.

The process of installing state-of-the-art Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters is progressing rapidly to promote excellent customer services and transparency in operational matters and so far more than 884,000 AMI meters have been installed in Rawalpindi and surrounding areas.

Apart from this, AMI meters have also been installed on 97% of connections with a load of 41 kW or more in the IESCO region. He said that this project is definitely a revolutionary step in the power sector due to which 100% accurate meter reading, automatic registration and timely redressal of consumer complaints, complete monitoring of consumers’ electricity bills, control of electricity theft, elimination of overloading of power distribution system and transformers, reduction in line losses, control of electricity theft, best recovery of electricity bills will be possible.

He said that initially the process of installing AMI meters is going on in Rawalpindi City Circle, Rawalpindi Cantt Circle and Insha Allah, we will soon ensure the installation of AMI meters in the entire IESCO region which will definitely lead to establishing a pleasant relationship between IESCO and consumers.
