Rupee Slips Marginally Against Dollar

Karachi — The Pakistani rupee has recorded a slight depreciation against the US dollar in the interbank market on Thursday as it closed at 283.72 per dollar.

The local currency closed at 283.72 per dollar, which is down from 283.67 recorded a day earlier. This resulted in a depreciation of 0.02% compared to the previous session.

The decline has followed a minor recovery which was witnessed on Wednesday, when the rupee had appreciated by Re0.05.
Currency analysts have attributed the fluctuation to routine demand from importers and a cautious outlook among traders amid global dollar movement.PKR to Dollar on June 23, 2025

State Bank of Pakistan publishes the interbank rate daily which also reflects closing exchange values settled between banks.
As per SBP guidance, the rupee is depreciates at a time when buyers are required more rupees to purchase a single US dollar.
