Islamabad: The PKR to Dollar rate in Pakistan on June 24, 2025 recorded a marginal improvement as Pakistani rupee appreciated 0.04% in the interbank market.

At the close of trading, the rupee has settled at Rs283.77 against the dollar, registering a gain of Re0.10 against Monday’s closing rate of Rs283.87, according to data shared by the State Bank of Pakistan.PKR to Dollar on May 8, 2025

As US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran on Tuesday, the currency market has shown a cautious optimism amid international developments. It lifted investor sentiment globally, media has reported.

After tense conflict of two weeks, US President Trump had declared a complete cessation between two arch rivals-Iran and Israel.

Iranian officials had also confirmed their ceasefire agreement. However, Iran’s foreign minister had linked fully ceasefire if Israel halted its attacks.

The Australian dollar went up 0.3% to $0.6480, while the New Zealand dollar also jumped up 0.3% to $0.5994.. Israel’s shekel had also surged 1% against the dollar, which reached its strongest level since February 2023.

The US dollar also weakened 0.37% against the Japanese yen to 145.60, the euro was up 0.12% to $1.1592, and the British pound also edged up 0.11% to $1.3541.

Against a basket of currencies, the dollar index stood at 98.23, reflecting a decline of over 0.5% from the previous session.

The global risk rally also weighed on oil prices as Brent crude futures dropped by $3.29, or 4.6%, to $68.19 per barrel. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude also dropped $3.20, or 4.7%, to $65.31 per barrel at 1443 GMT.
