SUV Sales Rebounded With 84% Growth

Islamabad: SUVs posted robust growth in sales with 2,638 units (up 84%MoM). This is the highest monthly sales numbers of the current year– barring one-off sales in January due to year end phenomenon. ▪ Within SUVs, Tucson sales grew to 569 units compared to only 5 units last month. Havel sales also climbed by 70%MoM.

Company wise, highest sales was recorded by SAZEW ( Up 67%MoM) on back of elevated Havel sales. In 11MFY25, SAZEW lead the industry with the most sales growth (Up 2.3xYoY).

Passenger car sales are also gradually improving amid low financing rates. Major growth is witnessed in the 1000cc segment (up 107%MoM), followed by below 1000cc ( Up 49%MoM) and Above 1300cc ( Up 31%MoM).

Auto Sales Surge 81% MoM in January 2024

In 1000cc segment, Santro posted 224 units ( Up 167%MoM), and Cultus posted 252 units ( Up 73%MoM). While, within below 1000cc segment, Alto registered 3,409 units ( Up 50%MoM) and Every recorded 456 units ( Up 41%MoM).

In the 1300cc & above segment, the Cross posted the highest growth with 312 units sold (up 105% MoM), followed by the Corolla with 1,392 units (up 88% MoM), the Honda City with 1,570 units (up 32% MoM), and the Yaris with 2,110 units (up 30% MoM). In contrast, Civic sales declined to 300 units (down 21%)

Trucks sales growth remained moderate with 18%MoM growth. Isuzu and Hino outperformed by posting 24%MoM and 93%MoM respectively,” Sherman Research said.
