JazzCash nominated for GLOMO Awards 2025 in best fintech innovation category
ISLAMABAD: JazzCash, the financial technology subsidiary of Pakistan’s top digital service provider, Jazz a VEON Group entity has been shortlisted in the Best Fintech Innovation category for the prestigious Global Mobile (GLOMO) Awards at the upcoming MWC 2025.
This recognition further highlights JazzCash’s groundbreaking approach, marking a global first by enabling over 360,000 merchants and businesses to accept payments from contactless cards or smartphones with a simple tap on an NFC-supported Android device, according to a press statement.
Leveraging its digital front-end collaboration with Mastercard, JazzCash wallets can also tap directly to complete digital transactions using any contactless device.

Despite over 50 million debit and credit cards in circulation across Pakistan, the country has fewer than 132,000 point-of-sale (PoS) terminals. JazzCash’s Tap Pay solution is addressing this critical payment acceptance gap by converting 360,000 merchants’ smartphones into PoS devices, thereby extending digital payment accessibility to nearly every region of the country.
With a customer base of 48 million, JazzCash is accelerating the transition towards a cashless economy, in alignment with the State Bank of Pakistan and the government’s vision for financial digitization. The platform provides an extensive suite of services, including micro-loans, savings, and insurance, ensuring financial inclusion for underserved and unbanked populations.
JazzCash’s innovative initiatives have garnered international acclaim, including winning the ‘Pioneering Telco to Launch Tap on Phone’ award by Mastercard at Edge 2024 in Dubai.
