Jam Kamal reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to human, labor rights

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to human and labor rights.

 He made these remarks during a meeting with the European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights, Olaf Skoog, who visited him in Islamabad.Senate Chairman calls for comprehensive approach to advance cause of girls’ education

The discussion centered around maintaining and enhancing trade advantages under the Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus, while ensuring adherence to international commitments.

 The Minister stated that the government is working to improve these areas as part of its international obligations, as they are also advantageous for the nation and the government.

Ambassador Olaf Skoog praised Pakistan’s active engagement with the EU and highlighted the mutual benefits of the GSP+ framework for both Pakistani exporters and European importers.

He also expressed his desire for stronger collaboration between the EU and Pakistan at multilateral human rights forums.
