Pakistan, Hong Kong emphasize strengthening economic, diplomatic relations

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, and the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), John K C Lee, on Tuesday underscored the significance of enhancing economic and diplomatic relations between the two regions.

According to a press release from the finance ministry, Aurangzeb, during a meeting with Lee, highlighted the potential for expanded cooperation in areas such as finance, technology, and tourism. He emphasized the shared values and interests that unite the two regions and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening these relations.

Minister Aurangzeb and Chief Executive Lee engaged in a productive discussion covering various subjects, including economic cooperation, trade relations, investment prospects, and cultural exchanges between the two regions. The dialogue aimed at fostering stronger ties and identifying opportunities for mutual growth and prosperity, the statement added.

During the meeting, K C Lee expressed his warm welcome to Aurangzeb’s visit and reiterated the importance of boosting collaboration between Pakistan and Hong Kong. He acknowledged the value of forming robust partnerships to drive economic growth, innovation, and cultural exchange, stressing the mutual benefits of such cooperation.

The meeting between Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and Chief Executive John K C Lee reflected the shared commitment of both parties to fortifying bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for fruitful engagement across various sectors.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Beijing, Khaleel Hashmi, and Consul General in Hong Kong, Riaz Ahmed Shaikh, were also present at the occasion.
