Deployment of 2 African Submarine Cable System vital for Pakistan’s digital transformation
ISLAMABAD: The Minister of State for IT and Telecommunications, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, stated that the installation of the 2Africa Submarine Cable System is a significant milestone toward making Pakistan a digitally interconnected country.
Highlighting the project’s progress, she noted that this initiative will not only enhance Pakistan’s digital infrastructure but also boost internet speed and stability.
PTA Highlights Progress on 2Africa Submarine Cable System in Pakistan
The implementation of the 2Africa cable in Pakistan is being executed in several stages. The first phase is already in progress, while the second phase is set to begin in April next year.
The 2Africa Submarine Cable System is among the most extensive and sophisticated undersea cable networks globally, stretching 45,000 kilometers and linking 46 locations across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East.
