Chinese CMC Vice Chairman Visits Pakistan Army HQ

RAWALPINDI: General Zhang Youxia, Deputy Chairman of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC), visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) with a senior delegation.

He held a private meeting with General Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), followed by in-depth discussions at the delegation level. These discussions centered on shared interests, regional security challenges, steps for ensuring stability in the region, and boosting defense cooperation between the two nations.Chinese delegation expresses confidence in SIFC

General Asim Munir highlighted the robust and time-tested nature of Pakistan-China relations, built on mutual trust and collaboration. He acknowledged the unwavering support of Chinese leadership in all circumstances, emphasizing the partnership’s resilience and its potential for further growth.

General Zhang Youxia expressed China’s gratitude for Pakistan’s strong dedication to their strategic alliance. He praised the professionalism and commitment of the Pakistan Army in combating terrorism and reaffirmed China’s intent to deepen their enduring relationship.

Earlier, upon arriving at GHQ, General Zhang laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honor Pakistan’s martyrs. He was warmly received with a guard of honor by a ceremonial Pakistan Army contingent.
