Situation returns to normal in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: Normalcy has been restored in Islamabad after the removal of PTI protesters from D-Chowk and nearby areas.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the stretch between D-Chowk and Khyber Plaza, meeting with law enforcement personnel and commending their courage.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House Sealed in Islamabad
He praised the efforts of the Rangers, Islamabad Police, Punjab and Sindh Police, FC, and the Pakistan Army for successfully clearing the areas. The minister inspected the cleared zones, directed the CDA to clean the roads, and evaluated damage to buildings and infrastructure caused by the unrest. He also ordered the removal of remaining blockages.
The Interior Minister stated that an attempt to create division was thwarted, describing it as a triumph for the people of Pakistan.
Sources report that Bushra Bibi and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur fled the D-Chowk area together.
Meanwhile, security officials confirmed that no firearms were used during last night’s operation by police and rangers in the federal capital.
Refuting rumors circulating on social media, they clarified that reports of protester fatalities are baseless. Security officials condemned the spread of false and misleading propaganda, labeling it an attempt to divert attention from failures and shortcomings.
