Protests cause Rs190b daily loss to Pakistan: Finance Minister
ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has stated that the ongoing opposition protests are causing a daily loss of PKR 190 billion to the federal government.
In a statement, he mentioned that a report compiled by the Finance Ministry reveals that the nation’s GDP is losing PKR 144 billion per day due to the demonstrations.workshop on national climate finance strategy
He clarified that this estimate does not account for losses in the IT and telecom sectors.
The minister further noted that export-related losses stand at PKR 26 billion daily, while foreign investments are facing setbacks of PKR 3 billion each day.
Consequently, the federal government is bearing a daily loss of PKR 190 billion, with provincial losses anticipated to be even higher.
