ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in agricultural progress by harvesting an unprecedented 15 million metric tons of zinc-enriched, bio-fortified wheat. According to experts and officials, this impressive yield is set to help tackle widespread zinc deficiencies, especially among women and children.

This bio-fortified wheat, developed in partnership with Harvest Plus and the Wheat Research Institute at Ayub Agriculture Research Institute in Faisalabad, provides enhanced nutritional benefits and improved disease resistance, marking a transformative advancement in the country’s agricultural sector. Farmers have welcomed the introduction of this fortified wheat variety.
